Overview

Regional Skills Leadership Groups (RSLGs) are locally based and regionally led independent advisory groups that identify and support better ways of meeting current and future workforce and skills needs in the regions and cities of Aotearoa New Zealand. RSLGs are in 15 regions across the motu, each comprising regional leaders who drive a more coordinated approach to regional workforce planning.

The core functions of RSLGs are:

  • to inform local labour market actors on regional labour market conditions and skills needs.
  • to guide and coordinate local actors to shape regional solutions to meet regional labour market needs.
  • to influence government decision-makers by identifying regional priorities and providing regional labour market insight.
